Little Italy

Our clients wanted to transform their garden to complement the improvements they had made to their home. As busy working parents, the garden had been used as a utility and play area for their family and pets. Our brief was to create a seamless transition from the bi-fold doors to a serene, private low-maintenance space with year-round texture and colour. Space was limited on this North-West facing site, and we used the existing plants and trees, alongside complementary new planting for instant impact. We created different levels, raised borders and distinct areas to eat, entertain and relax, including a 'sunken' firepit to allow privacy from neighbouring properties. Vernacular architecture of the drystone retaining walls enhances the design, complemented by "Mrs Olive", the jewel in the crown of this Italian oasis.
